    International Postal Connections to Europe - France 1874 (Jan 21): Entire letter from Smirna to Marseille, franked with 1867 coarse whiskers 10 s. blue and 25 s. lilac, tied by thimble "SMIRNE 21 / 1 74" cds in black (Tranmer fig. 10), "P.D." in blue and French Marseille entry cds in red (Jan 31) alongside. Reverse with Brindisi transit and Marseille arrival cds (Feb 1). An attractive cover, matched with a cover front from Smirna to Marseille with 1867 5 s red (2) and 25 s. lilac. Both illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 405.
