    International Postal Connections to Europe - France 1872 (Nov 29): Double rate envelope from Constantinople to Paris, franked with 1867 coarse whiskers 10 s. blue in a pair and and 50 s. brown, tied by "CONSTANTINOPLE 29/11" cds in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 387), French entry 'Autriche / Avricourt' cds (Nov 6) in blue and "A. / P.D." postal treaty handstamp in black alongside. Reverse with faint Paris arrival cds (Dec 6). Cover cleaned and probably repaired, sold as is / 'tel quel'. A most impressive franking, a very rare usage of the 50 soldi stamp, illustrated in the Ferchenbauer handbook part IV on page 558 and in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 404 Ferchenbauer = € 7'000. rnProvenance: Collection Henry W.
