    International Postal Connections to Europe - France 1870 (March 12): Cover from Smirna to Marseille, franked with 1867 15 s. brown and 25 s. grey-lilac, tied by "SMIRNE 12 / 3 70" thimble cds in black (Tranmer fig. 10), "P.D." in blue and French entry cds in red (March 19) alongside. Reverse with Brindisi transit (March 16). A scarce and attractive cover, illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 404 and in the Ferchenbauer handbook part IV on page 558.
