    International Postal Connections to Europe - Netherlands 1874 (Nov 6): Cover from Smirna to Amsterdam, franked with 1867 coarse whiskers 10 s. blue in a horizontal pair, tied by "SMIRNE 5 / 11 74" thimble cds in black (Tranmer fig. 10). Reverse with Triest transit and Amsterdam arrival cds (Nov 17). On front, manuscript '4' kreuzer in red crayon for onward postage beyond Prussia. A fresh and fine cover to an unusual destination for Austrian Levant mail.
