    International Postal Connections to Europe - Great Britain 1874 (July 16): Registered cover from Beirut to Manchester, endorsed 'via Brindisi' franked with 1867 coarse whiskers 3 s. green and 15 s. brown in a horizontal pair, tied by "BERUTTI 16 / 7" cds (Tranmer fig. 3) with "RACOM." in black, German framed "Recomandirt" in red. "REGISTERED / LONDON" transit datestamp in red alongside, reverse with oval "REGISTERED / MANCHESTER" arrival datestamp (Aug 4) in red. On front, manuscript '8' kreuzer in red crayon for onward postage beyond Prussia. Item roughly opened, but an appealing cover in the 33 soldi rate with 15 s. postage for Levant and Austria and 8 kr. for the United Kingdom, in addition 10 s. registration fee which is included in the the franking on front. Illustrated in Puschmann - "125 Jahre Ausgabe 1867" on page 192 and 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 395.
