    International Postal Connections to Europe - Great Britain 1867 (Jan 28): Quadruple rate cover from Alexandria to Liverpool, franked with 1864 Arms 10 s. blue and 15 s. brown, four single adhesives and three horizontal pairs, all perf. 9½, in overall fine and fresh condition and well embossed but one stamp with closed tear at top, tied by eight "ALEXANDRIEN 28 / 1" (Tranmer fig. 5) cds's. "P.D." in red alongside, reverse with Triest transit and Liverpool arrival cds (Feb 10 1867). Front shows '4' for the fourth weight and '56' kreuzer weiterfranko, both in red crayon. One stamp with minor wrinkles, a very rare franking at 160 soldi rate, illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 392. Cert. Ferchenbauer (2009).rnProvenance: Collection J. B.
