    International Postal Connections to Europe - Great Britain 1849 (July 19): Prepaid entire letter from London to Constantinople, endorsed "Voie Ostende & Vienne", struck with 'Paid' despatch cds in red, "P." in oval in red and framed "aus England / per Aachen franco" in black alongside. Front with '2/3d.' in red manuscript, franco with '4' pence for Prussia  and '1/3d.' or '24' kreuzer as noted on reverse for Austria and the Levant. A fresh and fine entire, illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 390.rnNote: Following the 1846 postal treaty between Prussia and the United Kingdom, mail could be sent fully prepaid to the Ottoman Empire.
