    International Postal Connections to Europe - Egypt 1867 (June 27): Cover from Cairo via Alexandria to Trieste, bearing Egypt 1866 1 pi. claret (Gi 4), a fresh stamp tied by "POSTE VICE-REALI EGIZIANE / CAIRO" cds (P. Smith Type I-2) in blue (June 27).  At the Austrian P.O. in  Alexandria, a 1863 Arms 15 s. brown, perf. 9½ was applied, a fresh and fine example, well embossed, tied by "ALEXANDRIEN 28/6" cds in blue (Tranmer fig. 5). Reverse with oval Triest (July 1st) arrival datestamp. Two slight file folds well away from the stamps, an attractive and very rare mixed country franking, illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 376. Signed Todd AIEP. Cert.
