    Competitors of the Austrian Lloyd - Germany 1873 (June 19): Letter sheet from Beirut to Nettstal, Switzerland, endorsed "Voie de Trieste", franked with Austrian Levant 1867 5 s. red and 15 s. brown, two fine and fresh examples, each tied by light "BERUTTI" cds (Tranmer fig. 3) in black (19/6). Reverse with Triest and Chur-Zürich TPO and Nettstal arrival cds (July 6). A fresh and fine cover, illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 389.rnNote: Comparing this item with to the lot before shows that the German service was cheaper than the Austrian one. Whilst Germany charged only 3½ gr. for a single rate cover, Austria charged 20 soldi = 4 groschen.
