    Competitors of the Austrian Lloyd - France 1873 (Aug 1): Entire letter from Aleppo, posted at Alexandrette to Vienna, franked with France 1871/75 Cérès 15 c. bistre in a strip of four, tied by gros chiffres '5079' in black, with pearled Alexandrette despatch (Aug 1) and framed PD alongside. Reverse with French Smyrne transit, Marseille à Lyon Special TPO transit and Wien arrival (Aug 19) cds's. A fine and attractive entire. Illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 317. Signed Ernst Stock.
