    Usage of Austrian stamps in the Levant 1871 (Sept. 16): Entire letter from Constantinople to Trieste franked by 1867 Austrian 15 kr. brown, a fresh and fine example, tied by ornamental "CONSTANTINOPEL 16/9" cds (Tchilinghirian fig. 386) in black. Reverse with oval Triest arrival datestamp (Sept 23). The cover rastel fumigated with a split hitting the stamp centrally, the stamp having been lifted and replaced. Rare usage in the Levant, a most attractive cover, illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 264.
