    Usage of Austrian stamps in the Levant 1865ca: Entire letter from Beirut to Constantinople franked by 1864 Arms definitive 5 kreuzer rose with closed tear and 15 kreuzer brown, each stamp tied by "BERUTTI 11/11" (Tranmer fig. 3) cds in brown. Reverse with light Constantinople Lloyd arrival cds (22/11). An extraordinarily scarce usage of Kreuzer adhesives in Beirut paying the postage between two Levant ports. Illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 263. Cert.
