    Post office in Belgrade 1841 (May 13): Entire Letter written in Belgrad, sent by messenger to Semlin and despatched there at the Imperial Post Office to Trieste, struck with superb oval SEMLIN handstamp (Müller 1374d) in black. Reverse with superb "SIGILLIUM SANITATIS" disinfection handstamp applied at Semlin and Triest arrival datestamp in red, charged '14' kreuzer due upon arrival. A superb cover, illustrated and discussed in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 138.rnNote: The Levant Post office in Belgrad was opened on August 1, 1841. Prior to this date, mail from Belgrad had to be transported to the Imperial Austrian Post office in Semlin from where it was despatched.
