    1866 (Aug 7): Great Britain 1865 1 s. green pl. 4, a used example on 1866 entire letter from San Francisco, USA to Melbourne, Victoria endorsed 'Per Steamer via Panama', tied by "PANAMA / C35" duplex (Aug 25) in black. Carried on the "Kaikoura" of the 'Panama, New Zealand & Australia Royal Mail Co' and backstamped at Sydney (Oct 9) and Melbourne (Oct 13). Entire with file folds and the adhesive with rounded corner perf. however we record just one other cover from Panama to Australia in the Great Britain Used Abroad period being an 1867 franking to Sydney also bearing a 1 s. green pl. 4 (ex the Kornan collection).
