    Nevis 1800 (July 24): Entire letter from Nevis to London endorsed 'p. Packet', rated '1/0' in manuscript, struck on reverse with superb two line "NEVIS / JUL 24.1800" handstamp of the British Packet office in black with arrival (Sept 12) in red adjacent. Fascinating contents regarding a slave wishing to purchase her freedom and a list of 'Mrs. MacDougal's Negroes'. The hole left by the original seal sensibly re-backed but a rare and most attractive usage.
