    1881 (Jan 1): Locally surcharged "½" on 1 s. lilac, Setting 4-7, surcharge Type 4, an unused example, of good rich colour, perfs. somewhat blunted as usual but well centred for the issue, showing variety "Surcharge Double", of fine appearance, unused without gum.
