    Colour Change 1875: 1 s. claret, wmk. Small Star, perf. 11 to 12½, an unused example of good centering for this stamp, slight wrinkles on large part og. A scarce stamp, produced in some haste after complaints by the Colonial Secretary, Edward Laborde, about the 1873 1 s. lilac-rose being too similar in colour to the 1 d. rose-red. Signed A. Diena Gi = £ 600.rnNote: Edward Laborde was somewhat surprisingly happy with the colour of this issue, writing in April 1875 "The colour, although not what was wanted, is better than that of the former supply".
