    1919: War Tax, the De La Rue Die Proof for the overprint on glazed white paper (47 x 84 mm.) with upper overprint selected with manuscript 'x' in red as issued, the lower with 20 mm. overprint WAR TAX / ONE PENNY HALFPENNY. A similar 'Approved' Essay is illustrated in "The De La Rue Collection" edited by Frank Walton on page 2679. Recorded in "War Tax Stamps" by John G. M.
