    1847: Embossed 1 s. green, Die 2, a used example with clear to fine margins all round, on 1855 cover to Fulton, South Carolina, USA tied by bold "Liverpool / 466" Spoon cancellation in black (Aug 17, code O2) and by '5 / CENTS' credit mark of arrival in red. Carried on the Cunard Steamer 'Canada' with circular 'BOSTON BR. PACKET / PAID / 24' datestamp in red (Aug 31) alongside. Reverse Liverpool despatch in green and 'Fulton, Sept 7th, Paid' in manuscript when redirected to Edgefield. A most attractive cover Gi = £ 1'900.
