    1940: Martyr 8 c. brown-orange used to collect the Poste Restante collection fee on incoming cover endorsed 'Written in German / via Pacific' from Great Britain franked at 3 d. rate and tied by 'Maida Hill' machine cancel (Sept 27). Flap missing but with Shanghai transit cds on reverse and wax seal chop on front. A most unusual cover.
