    1941: Registered cover to Budapest endorsed 'via Siberia' franked on front by 3rd SYS 50 c. blue pair and on reverse with 1940/41 Provincial Surcharged 3 on 5 c. green in a marginal block of four and a corner block of six with Dah Tung imprint all tied by 'Shanghai' cds's (June 7). Struck on front with bilingual octagonal framed SAMPLE POST / OR LETTER PACKET / PASSED BY / CUSTOMS P.O. in red; slightly over-lapped by glued label with typed French "RETOUR / vu l'absence de l'exchange' tied in black by cyrillic (?) datestamp with 'Expedition' at base. Faults as are to be expected but an extraordinary cover worthy of further research.rnNote: The Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was dissolved on June 22, 1941 when the Germans launched Barbarossa.
