    Syria 1855/1900: Collection 17 covers from the French Levant post offices in Alexandretta, Aleppo, Tripoli & Lattakia incl. Alexandretta eight covers, four sent unpaid 1862/72 to Marseille, two with cogwheel cds's, one with 'Euphrate' ship cancellation and one with 'Alexandrette / Paquebot' cancellation, two 1866/68 entires with 40 c. franking to Marseille, tied by Gros Chiffres '5079' numerals, and two Sage frankings with blue cds's; Aleppo, four incoming covers, three 1857/67 from Marseille with Napoléon imperforated frankings, one sent unpaid from Manchester, all four with very rare two-line "POSTE FRANCAISE / D'ALEP" handstamp in blue; Tripoli de Syrie 1860 entire with Napoléon imperforated 10 c. & 40 c. tied by Petits Chiffres '3773' and 1870 envelope with pair Napoléon laureated 20 c. blue tied by Gros Chiffres '5101', both with Tripoli cogwheel cds alongside, 1890 free-frank envelope of the consulate and 1900 Tripoli-Ville cancellation, both in blue; as well as Lattakia stampless entire from the Messageries Impériales offices in Lattakia, sent via Alexandretta to Aleppo.rntwo certificates.
