    Beirut 1868 (July 2): Unpaid Letter sheet from Beirut to London, struck with octogonal "BEYROUTH PAQ. FR. X No 4 2 JUIL 68" shipmail datestamp (Salles fig. 905) in black, French Marseille entry cds in red alongside, reverse with Alexandria and Paris transit as well as London arrival cds in red (July 16). The front bears the postal treaty mark "FR / 2f 40c" in black (van der Linden fig. 1266) which shows the postage France got from the United Kingdom for each ounce of weight, the receiver had to pay '1s / 6d'.
