    Ballon Monté 1870 (Sept 27): Tiny entire letter from beseiged Paris to St. Hippolyte franked by Laureated 20 c. blue tied by Paris Star 17 with 'Paris / 1e. / 27 Sept 1870' despatch cds, carried on the Ballon 'Les États-Unis' for a journey of 58 km., with reverse showing 'Lyon à Paris' cds (Oct 2) and 'St. Hippolyte' arrival cds.
