    1897: Unissued 6 d. blue, perforated 14, (presumably) the De La Rue archive sheet, with two horizontal complete panes of 60 from the lower half of the sheet, showing the perforation 14 slipping downwards and to left (perforations go through 'Vrij' at top and touch the Plate Number "1" in lower margin on left pane and below 'Vrij' on the right pane), handstamped in the De La Rue format "30 OCT 96" in blue at base and countersigned in ink in margin alongside. The stamp itself was never issued due to the British Occupation of Bloemfontein and is only found overprinted 'V.R.I.', see the Stanley Gibbons footnote. A unique and extraordinary multiple of great importance to OFS philately Gi = £ 7'800+.
