    1901: De La Rue unadopted Essays, imperforate on Crown CA paper, TWO SHILLINGS on 1874 5 s. printed in orange-yellow and TWO SHILLINGS AND SIXPENCE on 5 s. printed in violet, each with large part og. For an example of these and two other proposed Essays see "The De La Rue Collection" edited by Frank Walton, page 5016. The Essays were discontinued due to the death of Queen Victoria and ten days later the new duty plates with Edward VII were proposed.
