    1870/73: 3 d. bright blue optd. 'Postage' in red (2), used with 1874/78 1 d. dull rose in a strip of three, 4 d. brown and 1880 ½ d. blue-green all tied to registered 1882 cover to Halifax, Nova Scotia at 1/1½ d. rate, tied by Pietermaritzburg 'GPO / Natal' datestamps (Feb 27) in black with circular REGISTERED / NATAL in red.  'Registered / London' oval transit and reverse with 'Halifax / Canada' arrival (April 14).
