    1870/73: 1 d. bright red, wmk. Crown CC, perf. 12½, overprinted POSTAGE (Type 9 ) in black, a horizontal pair of fine colour used on 1873 cover from Murchison to Arthur Mesham at the Supreme Court in Pietermaritzburg, tied by scarce "39" numeral obliterators of Murchison on despatch.
