    Second Printing. Overprinted with small 'G' 1879: Cape ½ d. grey-black, optd. "G", Type 17, re-issued to Cape Post Offices after the Colonial merger, four examples used on 1882 cover from Aliwal North to Burghersdorp, tied by double arc ALIWAL NORTH datestamps in black. Reverse with 'Burghersdorp' arrival cds (Aug 21) in black. The stamps slightly off the edge of cover at top but a scarce and attractive usage. Cert. BPA (1991).rnrnProvenance: Collection G.H.
