    1900c.: Forgeries (3) of the Goodyear 1 d. all on horizontally laid paper, an unused example and two used examples one in a pale and the other in a deep shade, cancelled by forged 'Mafeking / C.G.H.' datestamps (May 11). The stamps were already in demand as soon as the Siege was lifted and the first forgeries were, allegedly, produced in time to be sold to Troops returning home to Britain on leave.
