    1849 (May 13): Entire letter from Punta Arenas to Lima, Peru carried outside the Mails and posted at the British Post Office in Panama, prepaid at '1/-' in red manuscript, struck with Crown "PAID AT PANAMA" handstamp in red. Reverse with PANAMA double arc cds (June 28) in black. Rare Scott = $ 2'200.
