    1883: 3 d. on 3 d. lilac, pl. 21 used with 1880 1½ d. venetian red on 1883 registered cover to Berne, Switzerland neatly tied by '498' numeral obliterators of Manchester with oval Registered / Manchester datestamp at right (Feb 9). Reverse with Neuchatel and Bern cds's (Feb 11). An unusual combination for the UPU 4½ d. rate Gi = £ 450.
