    Lloyd Austriaco Office, Lattakia, Syria 1899: Printed cover "Agenzia della Società di Navagazione a Vapore del Lloyd Austriaco" sent registered to Beirut, franked by French Levant 1 pi. on Type Sage 25 c. pair tied by LATTAQUIE / SYRIE cds (Nov 5) in blue with framed "R" cachet alongside and French P.O. in Beirut arrival on reverse (Nov 6). Whilst Muller, Tchilinghirian, Stephen and Tranmer speculated or tentatively indicated an Austrian Office in Lattakia, it is evident by this letter that the Austrian Lloyd used the French Office. Couple of age spots but of fine appearance and a most unusual cover.
