    1863 (July 26): Entire letter from Beirut to Zittau, Saxony, most unusually sent prepaid with BEYRUT / 26. LUG despatch handstamp (Tchilinghirian fig. 2) with FRANCA below (this being unrecorded in T&S) in black. Crossed to denote prepayment and reverse with rate paid (35 kr.) in manuscript and thence via Triest and Reichenberg to Zittau (Aug 8). Opens well for exhibit display, rare.
