    1871/73: 1 d. deep brown, perf. 12½ x 10, an outstanding horizontal pair in a fine shade with the engine turning very apparent behind the Queen's head, used on 1871 cover to Port Chalmers, Otago cancelled by 'Palmerston North' cds in black (Nov 27) with 'Foxton' cds adjacent (same day). Reverse with repeated Palmerston North cds, Wellington cds (Nov 28) and Port Chalmers arrival (Dec 7). Some minor scuffs to the envelope but a dramatic and very rare cover bearing extremely rare adhesives. Unique. Signed Holcombe. Cert.
