    1864/71: 6 d. red-brown, a horizontal pair used on 1869 cover from Auckland to Elk Creek Post Office, Wisconsin tied by numeral "1" obliterator and by 'Auckland' despatch cds (June 30) in black. 'London / Paid' transit cds in red (Sept 12) and manuscript '6' credit in red on front with "2 Cents" US credit marking  also tying the adhesives. Reverse of envelope with blue seal of the 'HMS Blanche' and obverse with signature of sending by First Lieut. A.H. Markham of the Blanche, who went on to Captain the HMS Rosario in 1871.
