    1864/71: 2 d. deep blue, Plate II, horizontal strip of three and three single examples, used on 1867 cover from Ross to Kingston, New Brunswick via Panama all stamps being cancelled by "Ross 20/3/67" twice in ink manuscript. Reverse with 'Hokitika' cds (March 21), Christchurch cds (March 22), ST. THOMAS cds (May 1), faint ST. JOHN'S cds and KINGSTON / N.B. arrival cds (June 13) all in black. The envelope internally reinforced, stamps with minor imperfections, lifted and poorly reaffixed but an extraordinary usage and destination for Chalon mail.rnProvenance: Collection Major Henry Dumas, Spink, March 2000, lot 356.
