    1856 (March): 1 d orange, wmk. Large Star on blued paper, a horizontal pair with large margins all round and portions of adjoining stamps at base and at right, used in conjunction with 1857/62 2 d. blue, no wmk., on white paper in a horizontal pair on 1859 cover to London, large margins and touched at right and scissor cut in margin at top, tied by "11" numeral obliterators of Ahuriri paying the 6 d. rate. Reverse with AHURIRI despatch cds in black (June 3) and obverse with 'London / Paid' cds in red (Sept 19). A splendid and extremely rare mixed issue franking (one of two such recorded) and of great charm. Cert.
