    Austrian P.O. in Sofia 1860: Cover from Sofia to the Russian Consul in Philippopel / Filipopoli, sent prepaid and struck with FRANCO and circular SOFIA datestamp (9/3) in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 864, 865). Fresh and fine, mail from Sofia is surprisingly scarce due to a small illiterate population and the town not being situated on the Danube.
