    Lithographed by Henri Gillet 1854 (April-August): 5 c. pale red-brown, single example, horizontal strip of three and strip of four, margins clear to large all round but for single shaved at right and the strip of three similarly touched, all used on the famous 1854 cover to Valparaiso at 2 ounce rate, the stamps formerly a strip of eight, neatly tied by seven target handstamps in black with SANTIAGO cds of despatch in red (Sept 11). The stamps lifted for checking and replaced (1974) and the cover with minor creasing of absolutely no importance. A splendid and rare franking for the specialist. Certs.
