    Recess by Henri Gillet from Perkins Bacon Plates 1854 (April): 5 c. Deep Chocolate Brown, a fine horizontal pair with ample to large margins all round, used on 1855 cover from Santiago to Valparaiso, lightly tied by somewhat smudged target handstamps in black with SANTIAGO datestamp (Jan 10) alongside in red. The pair is in the 'true' dark chocolate shade with an astonishing depth of colour and impression, the cover with two minor file folds well away from the exceptional adhesives.
