    Recess by Henri Gillet from Perkins Bacon Plates 1854 (April): 5 c. Burnt Siena (chocolate group, a deep shade on yellow paper), a fine example of rich colour with large margins all round used with 1854 Desmadryl 10 c. deep blue, shaved at left but with huge margins on three sides showing adjoining stamp at top, tied to 1855 cover from Santiago to Valparaiso by target cancels in black. SANTIAGO cds of despatch in red at right (Feb 21). Whilst the official tariff has no 15 centavos rate, this was utilised in the early years of adhesive issues for letters weighing just over ½ ounce. An outstanding combination of issues on letter and of great scarcity. Signed A. Diena. Cert.
