    1859: Thin Figures 80 c. orange-yellow, a fine example with ample to large margins all round showing the extraordinary Plate Flaw "180 CENTESIMOS" for "80" used on cover to Montevideo. The Plate was made from the 180 c. Stone and this error results from an improperly prepared cliché. The adhesive neatly tied by circular 'scarab' handstamp in black leaving the variety clear at top, with circular 'Renta de Correos / Salto' datestamps alongside (Oct 21) in black. An extraordinary cover - the sole known usage of this variety (Error of Colour!) on letter.rnrnProvenance: Collection Henry C. Gibson.
