    1872: ½ r. blue, 1 r. orange and 1 peso rose-red all used on cover front to Quito endorsed '1 lb. 2½ oz.' in blue crayon at right, with the rate covered by the 1 peso (8 reales) + 1½ r. = 9½ reales; the stamps all tied by circular LATACUNGA datestamps (Oct 25) in black. The cover with closed tear at right but an extraordinary franking with the entire first issue of perforated adhesives.
