    1892: 10 c. light green and 20 c. scarlet (4, in two pairs) all used on 1897 registered cover to Passau, Germany, tied to reverse by 'S. Carlos' circular handstamps with obverse showing oval "Correos / De / San Carlos / Costa Rica" oval cachet in blue and rare usage of the large UPU/R blue on pink registration label. New York Exchange registration label on front, reverse with transit datestamp (Oct 6). Opened for Exhibit display, a scarce high (90 centavos) franking.
