    Recess by Bradbury Wilkinson, perf. 14, 14½ 1878/80: 1 d. brown-red pair and 4 d. sage-green (two marginal examples), used on 1879 single rate cover from Martinus-Wesselstroom to Colchester (addressed to the Le Mesurier family), endorsed 'via Durban'; tied by "10" numeral obliterators in black. Reverse with Durban transit cds (Aug 30) and Colchester arrival cds (Oct 1). Cover #23 in the Jorgensen census. Minor imperfections but a scarce cover.
