    Overprinted "V.R. / Transvaal" 1878 (March 20): New Printings on blue paper, 6 d. blue on blued, imperforate, optd. Type 6, a used example from top of sheet, left pane position 6, tied to 1878 cover from Marico to Mowbray, Cape Town by circular "8" numeral obliterator of Zeerust with MARICO / Z.A.R. / ZUID AFRIKA cds at left (July 2). The fine adhesive also tied by 'Mowbray / Cape Colony' arrival cds with Cape Town cds adjcent (July 12). The cover is addrressed to Sir Thomas Maclear, the Astronomer Royal. Cover #49 in Jorgensen census, a fine and rare franking of excellent quality. Cert.
