    Military Frank 1899: 'Commando Brief' (-) black on yellow, the five Types, all used examples with Type 1 cancelled 'Barkly West' (Nov 18, 1899); Type 2 cancelled by oval 'Charlestown' datestamp in violet (Feb 9, 1900); Type 3 cancelled at 'Barkly West' (Nov 27, 1899) and a further example cancelled March 19, 1900 in Bloemfontein, six days after the British took the town and therefore probably cto; Type 4 with two examples cancelled at Spytfontein (Oct 21, 1899) and Modder River (Oct 27, 1899); Type 5 cancelled at Modder River (Nov 22, 1899).
