    Overprinted with small "G" in 2 Types 1878 (June): Cape 4 d. dull blue optd. italic "G" in black, two examples, Type 16, used on 1878 registered cover, with complete contents dated August 6, to Emil Burmester in Cape Town tied by KIMBERLEY datestamp in black (Aug 8) and registered number '6296' in manuscript. Oval framed 'Registered / Cape Town - Cape Colony' arrival datestamp (Aug 14) at left. Some minor aging on perforations but a rare registered cover.rnrnNote: The contents give the reason for the registration: "I received the Globes and Shades. Herewith draft for £ 5 8s. please effect the order last sent as soon as possible".
