    1856 (Jan 17): Cover endorsed 'On H. M. Service' addressed to the Postmaster General at Cape Town struck with superb oval PORT-PEDDIE datestamp in black with oval arrival on reverse of CAPE TOWN in red (Jan 24). Docketed at right "The Postmistress, Port Peddie, Her increase of salary and requesting instructions as regards franking letters". A fine and interesting cover that opens well for Exhibit display.
